We stayed at Manyara Ranch Conservancy for three nights as the last stop on our honeymoon safari. We absolutely loved the Conservancy!
The accommodation was very comfortable, clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated in keeping with the ranch theme. The shower was hot and the water pressure was fantastic. Although it was quite hot on some of the days we were there, it was comfortable in the tent during the mid-afternoon with the flaps open to let the breeze through and under the shade of an acacia. We loved having our wake-up call coffee/tea on the deck of our tent, while watching animals meander past (we saw plenty of zebra and wildebeest, and a jackal from our tent.)
With only six tents, the Conservancy offers a level of hospitality far and above anything else we’ve ever received. Svenja and Ruan were amazing hosts, and we loved sharing meals and sundowners with them and other guests. All of the staff were fantastic – Jacob and Julius were wonderfully friendly and provided great service at meals, the staff who cleaned the tent were efficient, and the after-dark escorts were friendly and responded quickly. And the included laundry service is a fantastic luxury on safari! The food, including the snacks during sundowners, was by far the best we enjoyed during our safari. On our second night we enjoyed a private dinner at our tent, where we received wonderful service from Julius during our three-course dinner.
After being mostly vehicle-bound in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, we loved the range of activities available at Manyara. As well as game drives in the open vehicle, we took walking tours, night drives, and spent an afternoon in the hide by a watering hole, all guided by Ruan and Longeti (whose eyesight is unbelievable!). We really enjoyed getting a different perspective on the animals, and learnt so much from Ruan. Because the Conservancy is not a national park, Ruan is able to take the vehicle off-road to get a view that would not be possible at other places. This meant that during a night drive we were able to see a group of lions feasting on an unfortunate wildebeest from very close, something we won’t forget anytime soon!
We would definitely recommend Manyara Ranch Conservancy to others. And we would definitely stay here again!
