New species identified
Guests visiting Manyara Ranch Conservancy recently discovered a new species which had crawled onto the table and appeared to be about to eat the lunch laid out on the table under a shady acacia tree. Appearing to be a cross between a chameleon and a porcupine, it has the ability of disguising itself as a loaf of bread while remaining motionless for long periods of time. Both very useful characteristics when foraging for food in populated areas. Soon after the discovery, the animal disappeared.
Further encounters are anticipated and it is hoped that a more thorough examination can be carried out in the future.
